A regular at airshows since the 70's, this is one of only two airworthy Lancasters in the world (the other being in Canada). Operated by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight since 1973, it was originally handed over to the RAF in 1945. Being delivered just too late to see action in WWII it ended up spending much of its time as a test/trials aircraft. It is seen here displaying at the Shoreham Airshow.
I am an amateur photographer with interests in anything that flies, be it aircraft or birds. This blog is aimed purely at my aviation interests. Please also visit http://wingtales.blogspot.com/ for a mix of aviation, bird and general photography
